Information You Send
Names, phone numbers, or addresses entered in a search form are submitted to the outside provider that returns the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us directly, we receive the information in your message and use it to answer the inquiry.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most websites, the host records routine log information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of access. We review it in aggregate for reliability and traffic measurement. Cookies or similar tools may support essential analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How We Use Data
We use this limited information to operate the reference, diagnose faults, measure use, and improve pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create personal visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and outside search tools. Their own policies govern information you submit after leaving this reference. That includes the provider behind sponsored search results.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
Safeguards
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and routine logs are retained only as long as the uses described above require. Because it has no user accounts, it does not hold an account password or visitor profile for exposure.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask a private website to access, correct, or delete personal data it keeps. Because this reference keeps very little, we can check the contact mailbox and relevant logs, then remove information that should not remain. Use the Contact page for that request. New York public records are outside our control; requests concerning an agency record belong with the custodian and may follow the New York Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6, ยงยง84-90.
Policy Changes
We will post revisions to this policy here. Continued use after a posted revision means acceptance of the updated policy.
